nX Refresh
Many Television interfaces deliver content choices as a series of strips taking over the screen, causing the average person to spend more time browsing than viewing content. The nX User Interface is different, treating video as the centerpiece of a successful user experience.
My RoleI co-created the concept and drove its design evolution, from early sketches to high-fidelity prototypes. I introduced the “Metrics of Commitment” model - an adaptive navigation system where menu presence on screen grows only as the viewer demonstrates more intent to explore. At the surface, the interface is lightweight and video-first. As the user dives deeper, menus expand, eventually occupying the full screen once their intent to discover outweighs passive viewing. I led the UI/UX design, visual system, and prototypes used for client pitches.ResultsThe nX proof of concept redefined how our company approached interface design. It laid the foundation for a new design division, influenced subsequent products and introduced core interaction models that went on to be patented. The concept positioned our team as pioneers in video-first navigation and helped secure buy-in from both executives and major clients.
